Deliver Community Outreach
In May we hosted the first annual A Taste of Midwifery: A Birth Expo bringing awareness to midwifery care. We had over 30 vendors, mini workshops, and over 200 attendees
Create a Safe Space to Find Birth Support & Resources
Our directory lists local birth workers and allied health professionals who have all agreed to practice using our Code of Conduct. This ensures that anyone who finds a provider through our directory is being connected with welcoming and supportive providers regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, and race.
Host Educational Events
In August we hosted BIPOC Breastfeeding Brunch connecting the BIPOC breastfeeding community with resources and professionals
In November we hosted Student Midwives Friendsgiving were we nourished the midwives of tomorrow and shared our appreciation and gratitude for the future impact they’ll bring to the birthing community of Central Florida.
Our goal for 2025 is to grow our reach and impact in the community, and you can help us reach our goal.
Meet the Families You’re Supporting
This year we launched our first annual A Taste of Midwifery birth expo. Families were able to connect with not only midwives, but also with pelvic floor physical therapists, birth doulas, postpartum doulas, chiropractors, mental health therapists, herbalists, lactation consultants, car seat safety technicians and so much more.
Families are told that it takes a village to raise children and at A Taste of Midwifery we connected them to the village!
The WHO recommends babies be exclusively breastfeed for the first 6 years of life and continue even after foods are introduced up to 5 years. We hosted BIPOC Breastfeeding Brunch to bring resources and support for marginalized families who aim to have a successful breastfeeding journey.
The future of childbirth lays in the hands of our student midwives. However, first we have to make sure they graduate! This year we hosted Student Midwives Friendsgiving so that we can pour into them. Midwifery school demands the students give their all and sometimes the pressure can lead to burn out and even questioning what its all for. Our event gave them a moment to connect and relax outside of school and be reminded that there is a WHOLE community excitedly waiting for them to graduate and come serve the Central Florida birthing community.
